A new brick making / learning season begins

What is a brick season?
Up here in the high desert at an altitude of 4,065 feet, it freezes, A LOT during the months between December and April, and often into May. There is a lot of snow, rain, and pretty much below-freezing temps almost every night. This can dramatically mess up the process of curing as ice crystals form in the wet mix we make and an uncured brick isn’t ready to be bombarded with rain or snow. So, it’s best to suck it up and make bricks in the imposing heat of late spring, summer, and fall.
